Who We Are
ClearBillReview is an independent consumer analysis service. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any carrier or service provider. We do not access, scrape, or connect to any carrier system or database. Customers voluntarily upload their own billing documents for analysis. ClearBillReview operates independently and exclusively on customer-provided documents. We help customers understand their own billing statements in plain English.
What We Do Not Do With Your Information
We do not sell personal data. We do not keep your uploaded bill after processing. We do not build advertising profiles. We do not share individual customer reports with carriers. And we do not connect to carrier systems, scrape carrier websites, or ask for your login credentials.
How ClearBillReview Works โ What We Access and What We Don't
We want to be completely transparent about how this service operates.
ClearBillReview does not access, connect to, or retrieve data from any carrier, utility, or service provider system โ ever. We do not scrape carrier websites. We do not log into carrier portals. We do not use automated tools to extract data from any third-party system.
Here is the complete picture of how a ClearBillReview analysis works:
- You download your own billing statement directly from your carrier โ using your own account credentials on your own device
- You voluntarily upload that PDF document to ClearBillReview
- Our system extracts the text content from your PDF on our server. The original PDF file never leaves our server and is never sent to any third party.
- That extracted text is analyzed by our AI analysis service to generate your plain-English explanation (see "How We Share Your Information" below for details)
- The uploaded file is permanently deleted from our server as soon as your analysis is complete
- At no point does ClearBillReview touch any carrier system, database, or network
This process is functionally identical to a customer showing their bill to a trusted friend, financial advisor, or consumer advocate and asking for help understanding it. The document belongs to the customer. The customer chose to share it. We analyze only what the customer provides.
What Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Your billing documents โ PDF files you voluntarily upload for analysis
- Your email address โ used to send you your report and results link. During checkout, you may also opt in to receive occasional ClearBillReview updates (no more than quarterly). You will never receive emails you did not ask for.
- Your intake answers โ the options you select and any written description you provide about your billing situation, used to personalize your analysis
Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect your carrier username or password
- We do not access your carrier account directly
- We do not collect payment card details โ payments are processed entirely by Stripe
- We do not use tracking cookies or advertising pixels
- We do not collect information from minors under 18
How We Use Your Information
The primary purpose of collecting your information is to provide you with your bill analysis. We also retain anonymized, aggregate trend data โ stripped of all personally identifiable information โ to improve our service and publish educational content about billing trends.
- Billing documents โ analyzed by our system and permanently deleted immediately after your report is generated. Files are never retained after processing.
- Email address โ used to send your report and your 24-hour results link. If you opted in to receive updates during checkout, we will keep your email address for that purpose only โ no more than quarterly, no spam, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
- Intake answers โ used to personalize your analysis. After your report is generated, your intake responses are stripped of all personally identifiable information. We may retain this anonymized, aggregate data to study billing trends and improve our service. This data cannot be linked back to you or any individual customer.
How Long We Keep Your Data
Uploaded PDF files: Permanently deleted as soon as your analysis is complete. We do not retain billing documents after processing.
Your analysis results: Stored temporarily for 24 hours so you can access your report via your unique results link. Permanently deleted after 24 hours.
Your email address: If you did not opt in to receive updates, your email address is deleted within 30 days of your analysis. If you did opt in, we keep your email address until you unsubscribe. Every message we send includes an unsubscribe link. You can also email us at any time to be removed.
Anonymized trend data: We may retain anonymized, aggregate data about billing trends and common customer concerns โ for example, the percentage of customers who flag a specific type of billing issue. This data contains no personally identifiable information and cannot be linked back to any individual customer. We use this data to improve our service and to publish educational content about billing trends that helps all consumers.
Payment information: We never see or store your payment card details. All payment processing is handled by Stripe under their own privacy policy.
How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Period.
The only third parties involved in delivering your service are:
- Analysis Processing โ Claude by Anthropic โ The text content extracted from your bill is analyzed by Claude, an AI service built by Anthropic (anthropic.com). We extract the text from your uploaded PDF on our server and send only that text to Claude for analysis. Your original PDF file never leaves our server. Anthropic does not use data submitted through their API to train AI models. Data sent to Claude is processed and not retained by Anthropic after your analysis is complete. Anthropic's privacy practices are governed by their own privacy policy, available at anthropic.com/privacy.
- Stripe โ handles payment processing. ClearBillReview never sees your card details. Stripe's privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy.
- Our hosting provider โ stores files temporarily during processing only.
Security
All file transfers between your device and our servers use HTTPS encryption. Uploaded files are stored in a private server directory not accessible via public URL. Files are automatically deleted immediately after analysis is complete.
Cookies and Tracking
ClearBillReview uses only essential session cookies required for the upload and payment process to function. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or analytics cookies. Stripe, our payment processor, may set its own cookies during checkout as required for secure payment processing.
Your Rights
Because we delete your data so quickly, there is usually nothing to retrieve or correct by the time you might ask. However if you have any concern about information we may hold, contact us at and we will respond within 5 business days.
For Residents of California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, and Other States with Privacy Laws
ClearBillReview is designed for United States residents. We do not sell your personal information and have never sold personal information. We delete your billing documents immediately after processing and your report after 24 hours. If you opted in to receive updates, your email address is retained until you unsubscribe. We also retain anonymized, aggregate trend data that cannot be linked to any individual. If you would like to request deletion of your email address or have questions about your rights under your state's privacy law, contact us at and we will respond within 5 business days.
Children's Privacy
ClearBillReview is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.
Data Breach Notification
In the unlikely event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify affected customers and applicable state authorities within the timeframe required by applicable law.
Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this privacy policy we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
